NOTICE

A division of the 35th Judicial Circuit Court of the State of Missouri. This Court is a continuation of the Police Court of the City. The jurisdiction of the Municipal Court shall extend to all cases involving alleged violations of the ordinances of the City.

Traffic Citations can be paid at the Dexter Municipal Courthouse, located next to the Dexter Police Department at 305 Cooper Street, Dexter, MO. Pay Ticket Online

Court Location and Appearance date: The Dexter City Court is located at 305 Cooper St, in Dexter. City Court convenes once a week at 1:00 p.m. on Mondays. Your Court appearance date is shown on the face of your citation. 

Before Coming to Court please call 573-624-4174 to verify that your trial, hearing, or pre-trial docket has not been cancelled or rescheduled. You must be dressed appropriately for Court. Tank/halter/mid-drift, strapless tops, short shorts, muscle shirts, hats or bare feet are not permitted. Cell phones must be turned completely off before entering the courtroom. Please appear 10 minutes before your scheduled time. Late arrivals or a failure to appear may result in a warrant for your arrest.

Payments to Court: You may pay in person by check made payable to City of Dexter, cash, money order, online or debit/credit card (convenience fee applies). If you are currently unable to pay your fine and cost in full, you may request a Payment Plan for payment of your fines and cost by appearing on your court date. How do I make a payment on my payment plan?

All payments made on a payment plan MUST be done EVERY Monday between 1pm-5pm.

How do I request a different court date?

You must appear before the Judge as he is the only one who can grant a continuance.

How do I file an appeal?

Request an Application for Trial De Novo and pay the application fee of $30.00.

Do I need an attorney?

Municipal court does not provide attorneys to a defendant however you may hire an attorney to appear on your behalf.
